Carla J. (Rose) DeVol, 58, of Solsberry, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014. She was born in Sullivan, Missouri on August 26, 1955 to Carl Rose and Carol (Hoerath) Rose. Carla was a manager at K-Mart West in Bloomington. She had been with the company over 20 years. Mrs. DeVol was of the Christian Faith. She enjoyed singing, working puzzles and cooking for her family.
Carla is survived by her husband of 30 years, George DeVol; children, John (Alana) Maxwell of Spencer, Carl (Erica) Gray of Jamestown, Patrica (Jason) Lazell of Unionville, and Robert Trobaugh of Solsberry, Chris DeVol and Byron DeVol of New Hampshire; parents, Carl and Dianna Rose of Canaan, Mo and Carol Gray of Lebanon; siblings, Carolyn Sue Roach of Bourbon, Mo, Cheryl Sims of Spencer, Cara Doss of Lebanon, Curtis Rose of Canaan, Mo, and Denny Rose of Bland, Mo, Deena Hart of Nashville, Tn and Jimmy Poland of Canaan, Mo; ten grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her son, Adam Gray; brother, Daniel Rose and brother-in-law, Harry "Buddy" DeVol.

Adam Matthew Gray - Born October 7, 1979 Died March 7, 2000
Adam was only given a short 20 yrs with us but he forever left an impression on me. Adam loved to fish and mushroom hunt and was a talented artist. He always gave of himself even after death. Adam's organs were donated and several people are now able to live a normal life because of it. He was my little brother in life and I cherish the memories I have with him.
Adam Matthew Gray, 20, of Spencer, died Tuesday at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born Oct 7, 1979, in Lebanon, IN, he was the son of Carla (Rose) DeVol. He was a machine operator and had attended Owen Valley High School.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather George DeVol; one sister, Patti Dowden; three brothers, John Maxwell of Patricksburg, Carl Gray of Jamestown, IN, and Robert Trobaugh of Spencer; his grandparents Carl & Dianna Rose of Owensville, MO; Carol Gray of Spencer; three nephews and one niece. Services will be 2pm Friday at West & Parrish& Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer with the Rev David Rawls officiating. Burial will be at Whitehall Cemetery.

Mary Maxine Neese Maxwell - Born February 14, 1925 Died September 24, 2013
Mrs. Mary Maxine Maxwell, 88, of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. Mrs. Maxwell was born Feb. 14, 1925, in Boone County, to John and Blanche (Pipes) Neese. A lifelong resident of Boone County, she graduated from Zionsville High School in 1944. She married Floyd Maxwell on Feb. 9, 1945, in Boone County. Mr. Maxwell died May 13, 1981. Mrs. Maxwell worked at Commercial Filters for 16 1/2 years, retiring in 1978. She worked at Sparkle Kleen Laundry for six years. She enjoyed her grandchildren, doing housework, bowling and traveling. Mrs. Maxwell was a member of the Nazarene Church in Lebanon. Survivors include daughters, Bonnie Twitty, Connie Taylor and Sandra Sutphin, all of Lebanon; sons, John Maxwell of Spencer and Larry Maxwell of Lebanon; and brother, Gene Neese of Lebanon. She had 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth Neese, Chester Neese, Charles Neese, John Neese and Bill Neese. Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home, 223 N. Meridian St., Lebanon. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Burdette officiating. Burial will be at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County.

Brett Alan Simpson, son of James E Simpson & Ruth Hoerath Simpson, passed away at Sullivan, Missouri, Monday September 1 1986, at the age of 19.
Brett was born September 7, 1966 at Crawfordsville, Indiana. He was raised in Roachdale, Indiana and later made his home in Bourbon, Missouri where he attended high school. Brett was self employed doing various odd jobs for many people in the Bourbon area.
Surviving are: his mother Ruth Simpson of Bourbon, Missouri; Father James E Simpson of Roachdale, Indiana; one brother, James R Simpson of Lebanon, Indiana; one sister, Sandra Kay Simpson of Bourbon, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted 11 am, Wednesday, September 3, 1986 from the Eaton Chapel, bourbon, Missouri with Pastor Frank Conigllo officiating. Interment was in Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri.

Linda Lou Gash, 63, of Advance, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at St. Vincent Hospital.
She was born July 29, 1944 in Lebanon, the daughter of the late Jay Wood and Ruby Ellen (Cain) Poole.
She attended Old Union Christian Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Lou Ann Bradshaw of Knightstown, Missy McHargue of New Ross, and Lana Maxwell of Freedom; brother, Keith Poole of Lebanon; sisters, Patricia Cooper of Greencastle, and Karen Sue Brown of Jamestown; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday Porter Funeral Home, 315 W. Main St., Jamestown. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Roger Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery in Jamestown.

Harry "Buddy" Lee DeVol III, 59, of Whitehall, Indiana, passed away at his home with his family by his side on March 16, 2013.
Buddy's home will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday, March 23rd for a Celebration of Life. A brief prayer service will be held at 1:00pm on that day. As a remembrance, friends and family may bring flower bulbs, which will be planted at a later date in a memorial garden on his property.
Buddy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 18, 1954. He graduated from Sheridan High School and was proud to continue his education in his field of employment.
Buddy began his career working for the phone company which led him to develop his own phone business, Hi-Tech Telecommunications. Buddy changed his focus later in life and formed A&R Construction Company, building and remodeling homes. Most of all Buddy enjoyed spending time with his family in the log cabin that he prided himself in building. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, paintball, boating, and biking. He had a strong and generous spirit and was always willing to help family and friends.
Buddy will be greatly missed.
Buddy is survived by his life partner, Sherry Reiche; six children, Monica Corman, Chad DeVol and Karin Baugh, Christina and Jerry Buchanan, Ashley DeVol and Andrew Minger, Justin DeVol and Amanda Grossi, James and Melissa Laster; twelve grandchildren; brother George DeVol; sister Judy Hammock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edith and Byron DeVol.
